Our Special 9 Elephants

Rupa, Sakina, Bijli, Bulbul and they all might look the same to you but they are incredibly different from each other. These are not just names of elephants at our farm, they are -The life of Ele Jungle in which the spirit of this farm resides. Let’s get introduced to the most phenomenal creatures who enlighten and inspire life with their gentle, human, and familiar touch of kindness.

Bulbul

This lovely and bulky Bulbul is the heaviest elephant on the farm. Her wonderful character of being very lovely to every one whosoever meets her, this quality makes her the most  favorite company. Being always hungry is a striking feature of her personality and that quite explains her 3 and a half tons of weight! Stealing food with great skills without letting fellow elephants know is something that we love to watch every day.

Jaya

For Jaya, it is not an exaggeration to say that “she is a noble soul living in an elephant’s body”. She is one of those creatures at the farm who loves her job of meeting the people at the farm the most. When she was just a teenager, she started reflecting family-oriented values. She always seems vigilant for her fellow elephants and senses the discomfort of others as an instinct. She is the one elephant on the farm with the longest trunk which surprises those who possess deep knowledge about elephants.

Radha

Holding the proud record of “The tallest Elephant in Jaipur” with a whopping 8.6 ft height! She is in true words the Beauty of the Farm. She joined the Ele Jungle family some 14 years ago and since then she is living her happy life among the caretakers of Ele Jungle leaving behind her ironical past. Radha possesses a lovable and caring nature that makes her another family-oriented member at the farm.

Monica

One-word description for Monica Being cheeky when her mahout is around to tease him is the most beloved fun idea of hers. Playing with everyone is her forte and picking up stuff during her walks is part and parcel of her daily routine. Just give her a stick or ball and she will droll with it the whole day. But getting annoyed at being ignored or snatching away her toy, is a feature of her personality that makes her child-like acts a cute part of her being.

Basanti

Basanti is another incredible of the farm who became part of the family in the year 1999. She was only 6 years old when we met her first and her hypnotizing blue eye immediately caught everybody’s attention. Not only this rarity of her eye makes her a different being who mostly loves to remain alone but also looking closely into her eye makes one feel like going deep into some otherworldly experience where eras unfold.

Kajal (Bunty)

Her sincere and obedient nature makes Kajal (we adore her with the name Bunty) a true inspiration. Her qualities always get immediately noticed even by the guests as soon as they walk in. Among her favorites lying down on the ground and urging to get petted and scratched is something that melts everyone's hearts and people get immediately drawn to her. Shaking hands with everyone is another striking quality.

Rupa

How about wearing a garland from an Elephant! Well, our Rupa is one who can do it, and that too very neatly. She is the most beloved member of the family and can be truly called the “Darling of the Farm”. She has a peculiar sense to understand the loneliness of others and she immediately walks towards the place where her company is needed. She is a star performer who welcomes guests with her cheery smile.

Bijli

As her name truly defines (Bijli means lightning from thunderstorms), she is a giant personality who looks like a male elephant just without teeth! But contrary to her physique, her mannerism is something that always makes everyone get dragged towards Bijli. She is truly fond of chapatis and always keen to get one anytime and remember she never begins any of her meals unless a chapati will be offered.

Sakina

Famous at the farm not for her small ears, but for the loquacious nature of Sakina that makes her a true darling of her mahout. She is besotted with her mahout as she responds and involves in every communication with a jolly nature and courteous way. During her walks around the farm, it is a remarkably noticeable thing that she walks just like a queen as she owns that place.

Beyond Our Incredible 9

The mentioned elephants are the ones who are special among the total strength of our 30 gentle giants. We have a baby elephant named Gauri, but she is right now enjoying her childhood days and is under care of her mother and capable caretakers of Ele Jungle.

White Turkey

Our broad breasted white Turkey breed is a beautiful and friendly couple who loves roaming around guests. They are very charming and minding their own business can be often seen mixing up with pigeons of the farm.

Cat & Other Residents

At Ele Jungle we never leave any opportunity to self serve for the purpose of protecting any kind of wildlife. Jack (Persian Cat) not only looks grumpy but she is actually. She just loves observing stuff without getting involved! Be it any stray cat using our farm for birthing her kittens or sheltering wounded monkeys, dogs and birds, we extend every kind of help.
